New JW Filshill website to align with customers and new depot

Glasgow-based wholesaler JW Filshill has relaunched its website to meet the demands of the growing number of tech-savvy retailers joining its KeyStore fascia group

The new design and upgrades to www.filshill.co.uk, which include features that are mobile-friendly to accommodate the needs of busy retailers who like to order on the move via their phone or other hand-held device, also complement the relocation of Filshill’s headquarters from Hillington to a purpose-built distribution centre at Westway Park near Glasgow Airport in March 2023.

Simon Hannah, Filshill CEO, said: “We have settled well into our new, state-of-the-art distribution depot which is delivering improve efficiency and reducing costs. It is important our website not only reflects our physical infrastructure at Westway but also online, highlighting our customer-centric service that we offer all our current and future customers.

“As today’s generation of retailers embraces technology and expects cutting-edge solutions to help them stay on top of their businesses – in the shop, at home, or on the move – we have responded to customer needs to make finding products and ordering faster more straightforward.”

The new website is also linked to the Filshill app which features time-saving features such as instant barcode scanning for convenient ordering, user-managed favourites, and instant notification of current promotions. Customers also benefit from online order management giving visibility of orders and delivery tracking, plus account management for payment notifications.

Customers can also search Filshill’s full product range, place orders, and view their account history. Those using the wholesaler’s ReScan Epos system also benefit from real-time data that provides information to help them drive profitability and run their shops much more efficiently.

Filshill’s Group Marketing Manager, Sue Man, said that the new website offers a contemporary design, with artwork elements that align to the graphics used in the new Westway distribution depot. “Our goal was to create a mobile-friendly platform that is as visually striking as our custom-built depot”, she commented.

As part of its 10-year growth strategy, Filshill, one of Scotland’s oldest independent food and drink wholesalers, relocated the business to its bespoke 120,400 sq ft distribution depot to allow it to increase operational capacity and service more stores across Scotland and the north of England. The business is set to mark its 150th anniversary in 2025.
